Someone told me once that I had a perpetual smile. I always remember that because my Dad always told me, “Keep smiling.” Innate strengths are part of who we are, how we’re born, and also how we are raised. Positivity remains a strength for me.

Emotional and mental health was not a thing in the ‘70’s and ‘80s. Our home was a dysfunctional alcoholic home and scary for a kid at times. I was always waiting for the next pin to drop. It took me a lot of years to learn piles of pancakes actually made me feel worse, not better, that eating a plate of brownies when I came in from being out with friends took away the joy and made me feel guilty and regretful. Eventually, I started figuring out that carving time out of my busy schedule to run made me feel better than not doing anything. I was in college before I realized reaching out to wrap my Mom in a huge hug and telling her I loved her felt better than well, a lot of the alternatives. And it was much, much later that I understood that not only seeking people who saw the good in me, but keeping them around instead of finding ways to chase them away was like a warm blanket. Finding truly good, wonderful, supportive people and learning to treat them as the valuable gems that they are may be one of the best gifts of all.

I tell you this story, because all of this is a work in progress. My personal wellness journey from weight to exercise to emotional & social health, as well as financial health is still a journey and one I will always be on. Because like muscles, we are continually working on our own strengths and our own wellness journeys.

I would like to help Americans get a healthy start on their wellness journeys. Everyone has strengths, assets as I like to say, and everyone can, and deserves, to flourish!

I believe by focusing on asset based thinking, what you are already good at, and prioritizing YOU-care, you will see a shift. You do not need to be fixed. Maybe there is a narrative that needs to flip. Maybe you have an asset that is not coming forward for you. Maybe you need an accountability partner. You will see a shift in how you manage stress in all aspects of your life. You will notice a deepening of your breathing, and a shift in your attitude. These shifts will deepen your self confidence and allow you to make healthy modifications to nutrition and exercise. Guess what? With work, here comes the healthy you! The confident you, the stronger you, with more energy, less weight on body and mind ready to share good habits with their family and friends.

Why start with strengths? Let’s not start with the perceived problems. Let’s start where everything is going right and build from there! Let’s set you up for success because from there, you will only get stronger.

I am a Mom of 3 amazing humans and have been happily married to the same wonderful school teacher for 28 years. I believe in practicing what I preach and enjoy a varied workout routine including running, walking, yoga, pilates, HIIT, Bootcamp, and strength training.  I have run 10  Marathons, including Boston,  a ½ Iron, and many ½ marathons and Triathlons. I have moved to non-impact type routines for the sake of my unique joints and because I have long term goals for movement.  I enjoy trying new recipes from interesting vegetarian and gluten-free cookbooks.

I am a NBC-HWC Health Coach and RYT500 yoga instructor. I am also certified to facilitate meditation, mindfulness and Social Emotional Learning in the classroom.  I cannot wait to work with you. Let’s chat about your goals, goals for your family, and how you can flourish.

In health, gratitude & love,
